Phonics - Sound Patterns

As an adult, phonics may be confusing because we aren't used to how it works. But lo and behold, the level of acceptance from the children has been very encouraging! Their young brains are excited to take in new information.

Perhaps it is the joy in finding a solution for their reading needs - they are more than happy to be given a pattern and an explanation for the different sounds they encounter. Simply being asked to memorise whole words is not satisfying for them, and rightly so.
