A huge thank you to the parent participants who made our first parents workshop in January 2019 a success! As a former teacher and now a parent, I am blessed to meet fellow mums (and hopefully, dads) who are keen to understand more about their children's education. We seek to improve our workshops for both parents and students! The same Creative Writing parents workshop will be run again on 27 January Sunday. The location is our classroom at Clementi Street 13. Send us a message for the details if you think it will be helpful for you! (We might run this again on a weekday before Chinese New Year, so if there are any requests, please send us a message!) Here are the useful comments from the participants. 1) One thing I learnt from the workshop: "Experiences and feelings can be transferred. Kids do not have to know everything about a topic before they can write about it. They can use other experiences / knowledge to substantiate their points." "Writing should flow naturally from within the student." 2) One thing I want to find out more: "What can I do during school holidays that is impactful and enjoyable, but different from the weekly tuition sessions." "Marking scheme for creative writing." 3) One thing I want to tell my friends about this workshop: "Good for overview of creative writing." "Facilitator is very experienced and relatable.
