  2023 workshop timeslots are now open for booking. You can form small groups of 2 to 4 with your family and friends, book a timeslot with Get It Right, and have the workshop conducted at your preferred location.

The children are 7 and 5 years old, and they are learning together. Teacher Libing has put together various storybook units for them to keep in touch with the English Language. The younger learner is focused on phonics and reading, while the older learner is working on grammar and sentence construction. They also do some activities together, such as reading instructions for craft making and playing language games. I have been encouraging my students to go back to the dictionary. Be it a physical or digital dictionary, students have to get into the habit of checking words they partially or entirely don't understand. Most intermediate and advanced learners of English still have problems with spelling and vocabulary from time to time. Some reasons include a lack of familiarity with the topic and fading memory of spelling patterns in English. To help the upper primary and high school learners, more complicated vocabulary is broken down into syllables and introduced as a mini puzzle activity. This serves as scaffolding, or the bridge, for the thematic reading and writing tasks coming up. The words are written on paper, cut up and jumbled. Learners can try to guess the words by mixing and matching the parts.
