Our P1 (Primary 1) English Preparatory Course outline has been updated. Please refer to our website link.
www.getitright.sg/courses.html Many parents and students have been asking if certain subjects are tough (or tougher than others).
As an educator and a parent, I would like to share that there is unfortunately no answer to this question. What is tough for one person, is easy for another. It all depends on the student's strengths and preferences. Instead of simply asking "Is it tough?" (which most teachers in the groups can't answer), perhaps it is more useful to ask other questions about the subject. What kind of topics are covered? What is the exam format at O and N levels? How does the subject contribute to graduation and future pathways? What kind of students would enjoy the subject more? Look for samples of textbooks, notes, assessment books etc to form an impression of the subject. Speak to the relevant subject teachers in the school - as the department teachers they clearly are most equipped to show you how the subject will be taught. Finally, it is only a perception that some subjects are "tough". Sometimes it's misguided - the students currently taking it are complaining or at Sec 2 the students have not reached a maturity in their skill sets to handle various subject disciplines. Even within the subject, there are different topics which could be more challenging for some students. Choose a subject that you are ultimately comfortable with taking for 2 years - don't keep peeking over the fence, thinking that all the other subjects you didn't choose are so much easier. Good luck students! #singapore #primary #secondary #subject #combination #sec2 #sec3 #olevel #nlevel #teacher #tutor Thank you to the parent participants who joined us for our first workshop in October 2020! We were blessed to run the online workshop smoothly on Zoom on Sunday morning. We hope the parents were comfortable and happy to learn at home. Teacher Libing definitely enjoyed teaching the session.
Join us for an Introduction to Phonics if you haven't! We teach only to small groups so that everyone can have enough time to share and learn. The workshop is specially crafted for parents - low stress, easy tips on phonics and language learning. Our Foundation for P1 workshops are also coming up in November, so check out our events pages or send us a message! #Singapore #jolly #phonics #letterland #LOE #English #kindergarten #nursery #singaporeparenthood #tutor #tuition #trainer #zoom Is anyone keen to feed the Monster some letter sounds? Trying an activity with one of our 4-year-olds - listen carefully to the sounds of the word, pick up the corresponding letters in sequence, and feed the Monster. Mission accomplished when the Monster is full - the box is full and we can't stuff any more letters inside.
