The buzz phrase might be "a new normal" but learning needs don't change fundamentally. During the holidays I had the honour of providing a short term English Support course for a primary 2 student who had previously attended my writing workshop. This course was conducted entirely online, with the technical support of her parent. The focus was on advanced phonics, supplemented with some reading comprehension and short writing activities. It takes some self motivation to ensure online learning works, so with the right support, a short lesson of an hour or so can be equally fruitful in terms of learning outcomes.
As a teacher I also take frequent screenshots of our discussions and forward some to the students for their reference. It is extremely helpful when they are drafting and editing their work.
