Early language learners help the ant reach a delicious cake by reading the word cards. They can be challenged to read more quickly once they get familiar with the activity. Make it a time trial, or mix the cards up in each round. The activity gets the kids moving while reading, and can be quite amusing while they lay out the path for the ant. It is also a light hearted learning game for older learners of any language.

This year we have been blessed with the opportunity to work with more students online. This tender four-year-old is not living in Singapore at the moment. Her parents requested for English Language lessons to ensure she kept up with learning while waiting for admission to an international preschool in the country of residence. In addition, there are plans to return to Singapore in the future, so I made online lessons for her to stay in touch with the Singapore context.

So far we have done phonics, storytelling, various worksheet activities, and some hands on activities. Immense credit goes to her mother, who has communicated with me via email, downloading and preparing all the activities along with me. It is my wish that this child keeps in touch with the English Language and has fun while doing so.
